When the nation of Volchar fell to the Celdun advance a century ago, the conquerers divided it into two baronies. The eastern contains the greatest amounts of dissidence amongst the baronies. They still remember when they were their own country, and hold a grudge for the annexation. East Volchar is easily the poorest of the Baronies, with no major urban hubs and no major industries of any sort. The Undying Order of Mages has a major installation here, but even the Undying are limited in their material resources in this part of the world. They do what they can to aid the populace, and in return, the people here are staunchly protective of the wizards and their facilities. Rumors abound that the King was planning to merge the two Baronies of Volchar together again, to rid himself of the blight that is East Volchar. The Queen before him was rumored to be interested in this as well, yet during neither reign did it happen. The baron of East Volchar is Violet Harstead.
